"Insta"-replay 110, so much July!

Last month was a busy one:

We had crafting fun at Michael's.

Went to a civil war reenactment with cousins.

Dressed up festively to watch a local Independence Day parade.

Saw one of the best magic/juggling/comedy acts ever, Stunt Bear was awesome.  Kids still aren't sure how he excaped!

Found a way to send love with Gramdma Jackie where ever she goes.

Discovered Pokemon in the real world, which is awesome.

This happened.

Road a bus, it was an adventure for us.

Clogged at the art fair (I'm in the middle.)

Saw how we measured up at the children's museum.

Twinsied with my sister on our last day living in the same state.

Went camping with the Walters family.

Saw a light house.

Hiked 3 miles to the top of humbug mountain only to find the best view was actually at the halfway point, we should have stopped there!

We had blizzards on Miracle Treat Day, an annual tradition.

Drove to Idaho, trip there wasn't too bad.

Saw Kezi, she's quite the puppeteer.

Had fun with the other cousins there.

And brought one of those cousins home for the week!

What a month!

"Insta"-replay #109, June and official summer

June was a busy month, a week later and I'm still trying to catch up!

It started with dress rehearsals at dance. The first look at costumes is always fun!

Then our first trip of the season to the Enchanted Forest (think like Disney only much much smaller.)

Then I got to have a grownup day at my cousin's bridal shower, congrats Sam!

The kids had kids only fun crafting at Michael's.  The summer camp creativity is becoming part of our weekly routine.

Then the actual recital!  I love watching my girls dance! And thank you to their aunts for the beautiful flowers.

Then came Father's Day and our annual trip to the air museum.

And more dancing, this time clogging at the world beat.

Luckily with all the business we have also had plenty of time to relax and play outside!

July is already off to a great start, I hope your summer is filled with as much fun as ours is!

"Insta"-replay #108, May Days

May was filled with the rush of "end of the school year."

It started and ended with Ward cousins, first they visited us.

Then we visited them.

In the middle was some normal routine.
Like spending time at the dance studio.

And playing video games.

There were also a plethora of special events:
Like a "sheep to shawl" day when we learned about how wool became blankets.

Seeing cosplay up close during free comic book day.

Dressing up with curls and pearls to see my mom preform in the Festival Chorale.

And visiting the school where my mom works to travel the Oregon trail with the class.

Summer is just around the corner, we are trying to hurry through the last few weeks of school.  But I don't expect life to get less busy anytime soon.

"Insta"-replay #107, April sunshine

April was surprisingly sunny in my neck of the woods.  Instead of the regular spring rains we had gorgeous sunshine, but enough sprinkles to keep everything green.

We of course had school to get done.  Merry manages to keep it fun by using rainbow colors to write her spelling words.

She also much more willing to work on flash cards when she can put stickers on her mastered facts.

We couldn't spend all our time indoors.  We met up with cousins after school.  Moms got coffee and kids got crafting.

We even managed to get to one of Michael's Saturday kids events.  Kite making was a blast.

We had an outing to the DMV, where girls saw how boring being a grownup is.

And tagged along with Toby to watch him compete.

It was fun to see him on stage dancing.

The girls also had a chance to shine on stage.  As part of the new kids clogging class they learned a dance to preform at AG Fest.

We finished up the month with a cousin-palooza! The Idaho cousins came for a quick visit and we had a blast.  I was very happy the weather was great and the eight super excited kids could play outside.

They came inside eventually and managed to be tired enough to get some sleep despite being so giddy about a sleepover.

Now I need to catch up on my sleep!

"Insta"-replay #106, Spring has sprung

March really does seem to come in like a lion, out like a lamb.

March started out cold and wet.
Kids had to bundle up to go outside.

I started the month with the flu.  I'm a miserable sick person.  But Jon suffered through it and did what he could to keep me away from everyone else so they didn't get sick too.

Thanks to YouTube and "standupmaths" I learned a spinning egg trick.  Girls where also impressed.

Our piano is finally being used as an instrument not a shelf!  Thanks to Aunt Abbie graciously offering to teach the girls.  They are enjoying the lessons and even practicing, some.

The middle of March is a fun time for not quite holidays.  Pi day, 3/14, we went out for pie with my mom.

The ides of March, the kids learned about Caesar.  I got out my old high school English project, animal themed sock puppets.  It was fun to share and the girls are asked my if this will be something we do every "ides of March"?

Spring break was a lot of cousin time.  It was wet outside so we had to spend most of the time indoors.  Luckily the local craft store had kids crafts every morning so we were able to get out of the house each day.  An added bonus was I didn't have to clean up afterwards.

The month finished with Easter.  The girls came up with a great clay egg and beads craft.  They shaped the eggs from modeling clay and used beads to decorate.  So simple yet so creative.

Another month done.

"Insta"-replay #105, even with the extra day February seemed short

I've been neglecting my blog, sorry. I can't believe how quickly last month went!

We worked on school.

Celebrated Chinese New Year with the help of monkeys from Grandma Jackie.

Merry had a wonderful birthday! She even got the horse she had been eyeing every time we went to Target.

My inlaws totally out did themselves with a fabulous shopkins themed birthday party for her.

Girl Scouts cookies season came.  Girls write out thank you notes to their customers.

Charry worked hard designing a light saber card for "Grand Prix". She won first place in design so her hard work payed off!

We finally made it up to see my grandma!

And spring might be just around the corner, I love the bright daffodils popping up around here! They are like little rays of sunshine.
