Insta-replay, whoops where did March go?

So I kinda fell off the blogging bandwagon for a bit there.  To be honest somehow I lost track of quite a few of my goals last month, but a new month means I can start again! So here it goes!

We've had a month packed with fun!
My pretty girls with their matching hair bows heading to AWANA.

We've been pretty good about going to the library once a week, Charry volunteers and Merry and I work on school or read.

Merry is working on a science project, learning about color and light.  She will be writing a report, making a display, and giving a speech.  But for now she's just doing experiments.

We've managed to try a few new eating places, I love that my girls will use chopsticks!

We've also managed to spend lots of time with my mom, mostly drinking coffee.

And we've enjoyed a few cultural outings, like going to a play in Portland!  The book is one of Merry's favorites and the play was nicely done.

So that was what I was up to, I hope March was as fun for the rest of you!

"Insta"-replay #82, dance recital week

One week every year seems devoted entirely to dance!  This year was no exception.

Every evening (except Friday) they got ready to spend more time sitting than dancing, as teachers worked on last minute staging and making sure students knew where and when to come on stage.

We managed some non-dancing fun too.
We hung out with Aunt Kim while she babysat the Ward cousins.  Kids love cell phones.
We took our own turn babysitting, playing outside since inside was too warm.

When the weather got too hot we headed to a nice air conditioned play place.
We saw our other cousins too, played inside because allergies.
I managed to do one crafty project, an embroidered doll vest.
Then finally it was recital day!  This year we were up and ready to go early so I even managed to get coffee before helping backstage.

After that week of "go, go, go" I'm glad for a week of rest!

"Insta"-replay #77, Walters assemble

After our usual busy week we had a wonderful long weekend with family and "marvel"ous fun.

Cousins spent time drawing while mom's spent time drinking coffee.

My sister dragged us out into the real world with sun and everything.

We had our final night of AWANA, Merry was happy to hold the flag.

Charry had her final night in TnT, we are very proud of her for finishing all 4 book and earning her Timothy award.

Then it was off to Cali!  And what did we do in Cali?

Saw friends accomplish awesome goals.

Went to a fun movie.
Enjoyed hanging out with Walters family.

And helped with a surprise super hero party!

I must say I'm warn out!  But this week has already started without me so it's time to catch up.

"Insta"-replay #75, camera shy?

Last week was one of those weeks where my phone stayed in my pocket so I only had a few pictures.

We worked on school.  Some subjects only have a few more weeks! Others will take until mid-June but the count down to summer has begun, despite still wearing our winter coats.

Their dance studio decided to have top buns instead of low buns for recital this year.  So I have been practicing with Charry's hair, she has been getting lots of compliments.

I had a fun childless road trip to bend, doing some pre-camping checks on the area.  It made me super excited for actual camping this summer!

Now that summer is in veiw the trick will be staying focused during the spring, wish me luck!

"Insta"-replay #72, spring break

It was a fun break, we even had a little sun by the end.  The week started a bit rainy.

The girls are working on projects for co-op about the moon landing so I let them watch "A Trip to the Moon," an old silent film.

We went to the library to get some books since it was looking like a long week indoors.

I was glad to see the sun, and so was Merry.  She gathered up her art supplies and set to work making popcicle stick puppets outside.

My brothers, Uncle BJ and Uncle Bob, put on a mini science lesson for the kids. It was a great reason to get together and eat.

The week ended on Palm Sunday, the kids got to wave branches and yell, Hosanna!" during church.

All in all a nice relaxing week for the girls! They didn't even realize how much learning they did.

"Insta"-replay #71, spring!

We had a good week, nice weather and kids getting along.
The kids enjoyed having their DSes out more than usual.  I enjoyed having uninterrupted coffee with my mom and sister.

The girls showed their Irish pride with both green and orange.  We found out I have protestant Irish ancestors a few years ago and have been sporting orange on St. Patrick's day ever since.

I colored Merry's hair for her birthday pictures (we were a bit late this year.)  While the pink hair was fun spending an hour with hair chalk was not.  So this will probably be a one time thing.

We ended the week at my in-laws playing games and doing puzzles. Fun family time!

Next week is spring break, but it looks like a wet one, oh well.

"Insta"-replay #71,

Another week done!

Merry is coming to the end of her math book, the final in the elementary fred series.  She is doing amazingly well!  She especially likes that it is something we do together.  I like that it combines math and reading out loud, two birds with one stone.

Charry has been working at the table rather than a desk.  She tends to spread out as the day goes on, I still make her clear it off before dinner.

I enjoyed playing with my nieces and nephew while the older kids were in co-op.  They love to preform and have their pictures taken.

Pi day was 3/14/15 (3.1415).  We celebrated like the math nerds we are by having pie for dinner.

Girls enjoyed a cooking lesson with Aunt Katie, she's the best. I enjoyed eating their cooking!

We ended the week by going to a movie! Cinderella was my favorite disney movie growing up and the live action version was lots of fun.

Happy spring!

"Insta"-replay #70, spring!

I know there are areas of the U.S. still dealing with snow but here in the northwest Spring has arrived! (Not sure how long it will last but enjoying it for now.)

I made a desk for Merry's doll.  Just cardboard, Popsicle sticks, and duct tape!  I was pretty proud of myself.  Merry had fun setting it up along with some dollar tree finds.

Kids have been spending afternoons outside, getting sunshine and having fun.
You can tell they are enjoying it because of the lack of fighting.

The boys got to join us at co-op Friday.  They were allowed electronical devices, making them the main attraction! (I did make them participate in the class I was teaching.)

The weekend was spent at a wedding for one of Jon's old friends.  As a complete stranger to the lovely couple I thought the wedding was very nice.  Highlights  included me being told I had nice skin by another guest and riding with my sister-in-law Katie (who is the best.)

It was a beautiful week and the weather continues to be gorgeous, hope you are enjoying your week as well!

"Insta"-replay #69, nice typical week

Last week was a great, normal week for us.

We worked on school, made sure our dailies were done each morning.

We enjoyed getting out of the house, especially when the weather was gorgeous.  And it was gorgeous last week!

We worked on more school.  See her smiling while she reads that math book, that is why I love the "Life of Fred" series.

Charry got crazy hair for Glow Club.  Her favorite part was the pink curls in front.

We had more school, including co-op.  I had my class make books about light as their science activity.  It was amazing, 45 minutes of quiet writing and coloring.

Merry and I finished the week with a trip to our local educational store where they were having a Seuss party.

It was a good week, I hope yours was also!

"Insta"-replay #64, Happy January

January has been bustling!  I realized I skipped a week so here is an extra long replay.
Girls are very happy to have their room clean so they can play on their DSes.
School is going well, we moved the desks into the front room where it is warmer.
Dance class has stated up again, the girls were excited to see their friends.
We have been playing Mario kart and, thanks Uncle Bob, dressing as princesses with the help of our new amino.
Piano lessons are always a fun time.  Last week Aunt Rachel let them crest s large music staff as they talked about which keys each note represented.
Our cat decided it wasn't scared of us after all, I just hope it decides to catch mice soon!
Merry enjoyed playing with Papa, I think we all enjoyed his stuffed animal voice.
We finally went back to the library, it had been way too long!  Charry was especially glad to get some "light" reading, although it would have been lighter if she had found paperbacks.
The week finished with happy cavity free smiles after our dentist visit.

We have definitely been busy, and definitely enjoyed the busyness!
