"Insta"-replay #71,

Another week done!

Merry is coming to the end of her math book, the final in the elementary fred series.  She is doing amazingly well!  She especially likes that it is something we do together.  I like that it combines math and reading out loud, two birds with one stone.

Charry has been working at the table rather than a desk.  She tends to spread out as the day goes on, I still make her clear it off before dinner.

I enjoyed playing with my nieces and nephew while the older kids were in co-op.  They love to preform and have their pictures taken.

Pi day was 3/14/15 (3.1415).  We celebrated like the math nerds we are by having pie for dinner.

Girls enjoyed a cooking lesson with Aunt Katie, she's the best. I enjoyed eating their cooking!

We ended the week by going to a movie! Cinderella was my favorite disney movie growing up and the live action version was lots of fun.

Happy spring!

"Insta"-replay #70, spring!

I know there are areas of the U.S. still dealing with snow but here in the northwest Spring has arrived! (Not sure how long it will last but enjoying it for now.)

I made a desk for Merry's doll.  Just cardboard, Popsicle sticks, and duct tape!  I was pretty proud of myself.  Merry had fun setting it up along with some dollar tree finds.

Kids have been spending afternoons outside, getting sunshine and having fun.
You can tell they are enjoying it because of the lack of fighting.

The boys got to join us at co-op Friday.  They were allowed electronical devices, making them the main attraction! (I did make them participate in the class I was teaching.)

The weekend was spent at a wedding for one of Jon's old friends.  As a complete stranger to the lovely couple I thought the wedding was very nice.  Highlights  included me being told I had nice skin by another guest and riding with my sister-in-law Katie (who is the best.)

It was a beautiful week and the weather continues to be gorgeous, hope you are enjoying your week as well!

"Insta"-replay #69, nice typical week

Last week was a great, normal week for us.

We worked on school, made sure our dailies were done each morning.

We enjoyed getting out of the house, especially when the weather was gorgeous.  And it was gorgeous last week!

We worked on more school.  See her smiling while she reads that math book, that is why I love the "Life of Fred" series.

Charry got crazy hair for Glow Club.  Her favorite part was the pink curls in front.

We had more school, including co-op.  I had my class make books about light as their science activity.  It was amazing, 45 minutes of quiet writing and coloring.

Merry and I finished the week with a trip to our local educational store where they were having a Seuss party.

It was a good week, I hope yours was also!

"Insta"-replay #68, cookies, cookies, cookies!

I was glad to see, when I looked back at last weeks pictures, that we did more than just cookies.  As Girl Scouts we tend to be very focused this time of year.

The week started with a holiday, for Dad not the kids.  It also started with a new math book!  Charry was glad to have Dad explain what was going on!

The weather has been beautiful! We are enjoying being outside when school is finished.

We had a small "Chinese New Years" celebration. Mostly it was just making crafts for our dolls and watching the "Four Golden Princess" on YouTube.

While I was helping to pick up the troops cookies, the girls were enjoying playing at Aunt Coral's house.  They learned all about mind craft and mushroom cows.

Then the cookie overload began.  First they had to sort their cookies and write thank-yous. Next step is delivering!

It has been a busy week and I will be glad when all the cookies are taken care of!

"Insta"-replay #67, happy birthday Merry!

Last week was busy and fun! I managed to snap a few more photos, so I was happy.

We are more than halfway through the school year! This year I have not kept track of actual days of school but since we finished up week 20, it must be close to 100.

It was observation week at dance so I got to see the girls in action.  It always makes the mom in me super happy to see them having fun.

I was especially excited to watch "hip hop" since this is their first year trying it.  I have to say it looked like so much fun, I wished I could join them.

We got back into JellyTelly this week.  I let the kids watch the Daily Player while having after school snacks.

And the big event of the week! Merry planned her own party and her sister helped decorate.

All I had to do was light the candles on the store bought cupcakes (and Jon was the one who bought them... Ok he was also the one who lit the candles) I guess all I did was take pictures.

It was a great week.  I now have a nine year old. The sun is shining, so hopefully next week I will have outside pictures to share!

"Insta"-replay #66, insta-fail and pre-birthday party

I started doing my "insta-replays" to encourage myself to take pictures of everyday life.  Those are the shots I enjoy looking back on.  Even if the house is messy or we are having an off day, remembering little moments of joy is important to me.  But last week I managed to only capture one day's memories.  Luckily it was a good one!

Merry celebrated an early birthday with the Walters' side.

She was treated to a meal of her choosing. And picked an American Girl theme.

She has been telling everyone that she wanted a bunkbed for her dolls, and papa did a great job making one.  Aunt Abbie even made four sets of bedding, so she can change it when she wants to.

It was a great way to end a week!

"Insta"-replay #65, goodbye January!

So January has flown by!  Last week the girl participated in "no screen week" with our local library so we had some technology free fun.

We celebrated a late birthday with my nephew, poor kid had been sick on his birthday so missed having a party then.
Merry is getting excited about GS cookie sales, she even set up a stand for her doll to practice selling.
We had our weekly co-op meeting, they really enjoy it.
The week ended with our reward for staying away from TV and DS, a sleepover at the library!

It was a great week, but I can't believe January is over already.
