"Insta"-replay #55

One more week has flown by!  October is going quick and we are already preparing for the holidays!
Piano class is going well.  The girls have started practicing Christmas music for their recital!
I'm slowly working on getting our house organized before decorating for the holidays.  Listening to them practice piano has helped set the mood.
This year we opted for "nerdy and fun" instead of "fancy and traditional" for our family photos.  We had a great time and all our smiles were real!
We finished the week by carving pumpkins with Aunt Katie.  Secretly I'm just hoping she will make some more yummy pumpkin seeds this year!

Happy fall but I can't wait for Christmas!

"Insta"-replay #54, halfway through another week!

We are right in the middle of October and the weather has turned to Oregon fall.  Around here that means foggy mornings and drizzly afternoons!
We are busy working on school... we have a bit of catching up to do but we should be able to take our long winter holiday still.
I am loving spending time with my brother's family.  His kids are adorable and his wife is a sweetheart.  Old friends make the best inlaws!
Last week was my son's death anniversary. I am thankful for places like Dairy Queen which allow me to remember him and give back to the hospital that had tried to save him.
And to end on a happy note, the girls dressed Aunt Katie's cat in a scarf and hat.  The hat didn't stay on but he wandered around with the scarf for a while.  Maybe he's a Doctor Who fan?

"Insta"-replay #53,

Last week we took a break from school. It was a long week for me.
My sister-in-law and her brood randomly stopped at the same place for lunch as us so I got to play with my niece, the girls were happy for surprise cousin time as well.
Charry got to meet an orthodontist, looks like braces may be in her future (just not immediate  future.)
Thursday was a day of remembrance for my son.  He would be four this year.  This was the main reason the week felt so long and also why we took a break from school.
The week ended with a trip to the pumpkin patch with Girl Scouts.  The girls had fun but it wore me out!

"Insta"-replay #52, when I get a cold...

Last week started with a cold, sore throat, foggy brain, etc.  So we did less school than planned (i.e. none.)
We did still have all of our regular extra curriculars.  I did my best not to breath on people in the lobby at dance.
We had fun watching "What's in the Bible."
We went to the first Girl Scout meeting of the year (and I had their patches from last year on their vests!)
Piano class was fun, the door was left open just a crack so I could watch their fingers hard at work.
At co-op Merry gave her first speach. I wasn't sure what to expect (the rest of the family is a bit shy.). She was amazing!  I was so proud of her!
Being sick I accomplished less than my kids, but I did manage to play Pokemon quite a bit.
By the end of the week I was happily feeling better so my hubby and I took a small break and headed to a movie.

I hope this week is more productive, although it looks like I got lots done, just not school.
